Perfect jumping off point for my 25 year run on Detective and Batman. I don't know why Dc ran "events" like Batman RIP, new Krypton, Final Crisis and the various Corps sagas concurrently. They had years of great stories for fans to digest one at a time there.

I have often said less is more in regards to both publishers. The major roadblock to new readers isn't continuity, but the daunting glut of books they are faced with collecting to jump on. You want to read Bats, Wolverine, Spidey, Supes or GL? There's a commitment to buy 4-8 titles a month depending on which character you choose there!?!? Never mind following two of them. The massive shifts and shake ups in continuity are then necessitated by the need for material for the never ending cavalcade of books that they insist be published. This is compounded by the fact that you can't pick and choose. I tried to skip Final Crisis and just read the Bat books but lo and behold Batman "died" in a completely foreign way and manner in a storyline I was 110% unfamiliar with.

DC needed to fire Dido and commit to a maximum of 3 titles and one X-over appearance per character per month. Stand alone, non continuity mini series and one shots can occur as the market place dictates.

Not a DC Drone but I've been out of comics for about 4 years and trying to catch up is just too a daunting task for all the comics I read. I like the fact they are producing both digital and print as digital is the future and face it, the comic geeks are aging and will be dying off so the whining about having to have the tactile feel won't be so vocal. I may actually get back into some DC when they start this and I'd start it digital. No more having to collect boxes of comics. I be a glass half full and see how it pans out.

Well you got right to the nitty gritty, didn't you.

The purist whiners will be dead soon enough, long live digital, huzzah!!

It really isn't, I'm hoping they drop them at least a buck, doubt it though.

I'm saddest about Green Lantern. That title does not need to be rebooted!

Well, what's the reasoning behind the high prices? They aren't using paperstock, ink, shipping - NOTHING - besides paying the artists - what cost is there?
