if anyone read the first X-Men Red series that featured Jean after her revival, this statue seemed to have adopted that version of that costume except that they painted it yellow and blue, whereas in the X-Men Red series it was red and blue (and looked much better red and blue than it did yellow and blue). The costume in X-Men Red was a much bulkier version of the Jim Lee costume.

Good catch. I like that costume. It had 2 color versions.

They might as well have painted this with the yellow and green Krakoa colors and made it their Dawn of X entry for Jean because what they sculpted is very similar to that costume. Or a hybrid of it and the Jim Lee mixed together.

Also, Jean needs red hair. I don’t know why we keep getting these natural brunette Jean statues across companies when she is a comic book red head. If they want to do a more natural red head the comic art I posted above is preferable to the dark browns we get.

I don't like the little power on the forehead in the second portrait, looks off to me.

I have to say other than the lack of chest, she's not bad for the XM line. Not a version i'd buy, but I can see it being good for others.

ES is set to 299.
XM mentioned they wants to do really low ES from now on, They want the statue to be sold out quickly.
I guess thats why the super high price.

The piece doesn't justify the price hike. I don't get how increasing the price will help it sell quickly? I still buy it buy it but come on.

Interesting tactic and I guess it works for them.

I kinda like this piece, but nowhere near that much.
