This is such a bad idea!!!
http://www.physorg.com/news63371210.html
Even if we COULD do this! Havent we all seen enough, read enough, and thought enough to know that it is NOT a good idea?!?!?

Yes...
but some smarty-pants will invent it, and travel back to dawn of man and kill us all...
Just like all of the good and bad time travel movies...

Gentlemen, I've just completed Dr. Mallett's experiment. I dropped a sugar cube into my 25th cup of coffee whilst stirring it vigorously and it didn't end up in the Cretaceous Period. It ended up sloshing around in my gullet. End of story.
No, but all kidding aside, I think this is a fascinating idea and I would be all for it if the machine's usage would be properly regulated and used ONLY FOR THE FURTHERING OF HUMAN KNOWLEDGE. We could place heavily armed guards around the machine's perimeter with orders to shoot to kill any Bowen completists, political science Ph.D. candidates, stock brokers or goofballs trying to discover the secret hiding place of Al Capone's hidden treasure.
Of course the legislature and attorneys will have a field day drafting new laws to govern the use of the machine. But just think of it! Being able to observe the formative years of Mozart, to know the exact day and hour that man climbed out of the trees and walked erect on two feet, to understand the origins of the universe, to discover the location of all those socks I've lost to the washing machine and so much more! Doesn't this idea stir your sense of wonder and inflame your curiousity? I say build it!
