Well, risingstar is getting a refund.

How could this happen? Will bleaching part of the cape help?

Apparently, that's a bad idea, and the bleach might ruin the purple as well.

Maybe a cotton swab on the discolored parts?

Mine has the same thing. The cape has a weird smell and has a oil feel to it. I wonder when it was in the bag and something happened chemically which caused it to bleed over time.?

Yeah, I meant nothing outside their usual offer of a credit or full refund.
Pretty sure though the desired fix is a corrected replacement cape and that's what I don't see happening.

That's too bad.
EX ES: 750
Reg ES: 1250
Combined run: 2000
Sideshow also ordered extras of everything in case things needed to be replaced. It would seem that the cape is cheaper to manufacture than the head, body, base, or arms. Even if they only have 100 spare capes, they didn't offer them to the first recipients?
Oh well.

I wonder if you just rub the purple fabric onto some cloth towel or old white t-shirt to see if it rubs off. Or try that with some damp water to it.
If it comes out the fabric wasn't dyed correctly would be my guess, or it was a light purple fabric and the factory just dyed it darker to save money and its bleeding.
Someone told me while back these fabrics are not cotton, they are made from plastic recycled bottles so they are really plastic which dye never sticks too.
