I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Honeyland (2019) - The last female bee-hunter in Europe must save the bees and return the natural balance in Honeyland, when a family of nomadic beekeepers invade her land and threaten her livelihood.

Beautifully filmed with a sad lesson about man's greed concerning nature. 8/10

Traveled to the West Coast and watched 3 movies -

Booksmart - 9/10 (a little crass but I laughed A LOT)
Toy Story 4 - 8/10 (quality film but it lacked a little of the magic)
Snowpiercer - 8/10 (really interesting film)

The Faculty - 8.5/10
I know most people dont like this movie but its a guilty pleasure of mine, probably due to fond memories watching it when I was younger

Don't Answer the Phone! (1980) - 8/10
This was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. Good suspense and effective performances

Under the Skin 4/10

I know a lot of people here loved it and usually I have similar tastes but didn't think much of this one

D-Railed 4/10

Was also told this was good but didn't think so, maybe I was in a bad mood or something?

Speed Racer (2008) 9/10 - Sorry, Matrix ... but Speed Racer is the definitive Wachowski' movie as far as I'm concerned. It hits on all cylinders. Full-throttle from beginning to end with 12 year old visuals that can still blow my mind today. Great casting, with thrilling homage to the 60's cartoon. Love the casting too. Haven't seen it in years when I pulled my copy this morning & Speed still more than holds up!

Ad Astra (2019) - Astronaut Roy McBride undertakes a mission across an unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe.

It looked amazing and Brad Pitt wasn't bad in the main role, but I felt the screenplay could have been fine-tuned. 7/10
