I see it up on eBay often going for around 1k with best offer, so i'm willing to bet some can be had for 900-950 shipped. I'm not sure how much weapon x initially costed after shipping but i'm guessing it was more than that.

There's always a window before and several months after a statue releases to find a bargain even if it sells out originally... As Crimsinwing1989 pointed out there's buyers remorse, financial reasons and cancellations that create this window.... but the lower the ES the shorter the window...

There's a lot of variables to take in also... How popular the character itself is, the popularity of how the character is portrayed in statue form (pose, costume, etc..)…. Is the character being made by several other companies flooding the market for that character....

Although you see a lot of posts with collectors saying they want 2nd and 3rd tier characters, the reality is people only have so much display space and most collectors want to fill that space with 1st tier characters.... Especially if their collecting several lines of statues... XM found this out the hard way when they created all those Spider-Man rogues, they produced them in the 700-800 ES range and they sat for a very long time... stores were trying to package them with more popular statues to get rid of them...

As for Weapon X, the retail price was $804 USD but if you were in the loyal buyer program you could get it for $723 USD... The people selling them in the FB groups are probably getting them for wholesale so can easily sell them for $723 also and make a good profit... With so much product on the market these days, statues doubling in price after release are long gone.... but I do think with the MTO most XM statues will hold their retail value or close to it compared to companies like SS that produce 3000-5000 copies of their statues...

Sideshow use to do low tier characters in their golden days. That’s long gone they seem to only put out xmen or Batman .... same old crap. I don’t think you’ll see another doc ock or scorpion anytime soon so they are going to sell for decent money.

Facebook groups although cool for sharing info and pictures , news etc are the worst places to sell goods on. Everyone low balls and looks for deals. I was on Canadian group for a while it’s twrrible the offers received. I learned very quickly Ebay would target more people globally and I get my price. Always!

Weapon X was about $800 retail plus $400 shipping. Factor in the 5% PayPal fees and conversion rates to SGD most folks paid $1300 to their door. Right now you can easily get one ~$1000 delivered. And this was MTO

I personally was on the fence with this piece until they produced the classic head ......... it was then that this piece made sense to me ... i’m OK with the coat... The detail looks really nice the only thing I would do differently is add about six notches to each tentacle just to make them look lengthier

Heroes Collectibles have had Weapon X for $1110.00 shipped since day one... My Singapore contact's price was $1012 shipped (including 5% paypal fees) since day one….

So retail + shipping has always been roughly around $1000.... , people who paid $1300 through 3rd parties is their own fault for not shopping around.

Wasn't Catwoman the first piece under their new "MTO" system?

I recently found Heroes Collectibles, and their shipping prices are unmatched. That's where the ~$200 savings is coming from. $200 to ship XM pieces to US by air is amazing.

but look at their prices for MTO pieces that have been slashed:

boba fett: $800 to $640
Winter Soldier: $750 to $570
Spider Gwen: $720 to $680
Red Skull: $800 to $680
Carnage: $880 to $710

Looking at the XM price sheet and as far as I can tell these are all under retail now.

$200 is actually average price to ship an xm piece and many xm pieces are actually under $200 to ship direct from Singapore via dhl to the states.

And many of those pieces were not actually MTO they just had a smaller set ES
