Honestly the straw that broke the Camel's back for me was the bullsh!t game sharing debacle.
They gave their reps little or no information.
They said and implied that you could lend a game digitally to a friend.
That's the biggest load of bullsh1t ever.
They would lose millions. We would all be lending each other our games. In fact we could get together and create a library to share.
30 of us could buy 1 game each (= 30 games bought), Normally, given we live far apart we would buy those 30 games ourselves (= 900 games).
Don't take the numbers too literally. I'm just making a point.
Game sharing was intentionally marketed to deceive us.
It's not a viable business option.
So they removed it.
People asked "Why would you remove the best new development?".
They just said they were removing/reversing everything.
When probed much harder as to how the game sharing worked it was discovered it was a word of mouth marketing ploy. Basically your friend can play for an hour - it's an elaborate demo. They are using you to sell their product. It's clever but it's not what they were implying.
WORST part of all of this is they asked Microsoft execs on Twitter if it's true it was just a demo? They responded "no, that would be silly".
LYING THROUGH THEIR TEETH.
Anyway, sadly, really it all comes down to the games and unfortunately the companies are no longer differentiating by hardware.
They are differentiating by software - EXCLUSIVE GAMES.
Which means if you want to experience all the best games you need all the consoles
So, yeah I do in fact have an Xbox One - mainly because it's how I can stay in contact and play games with my bro in England.
I'm sure Sony changed some policies and lied at E3 too.....but Microsoft, seriously? What were they thinking? You have to be online 24/7 or none of your (singe player) games will work! You have to have a camera on in your living room 24/7.......
Anyway, rant over.
Regardless of all of that PS4 has all the best exclusives.
And SFV.....!
