update directly from George on his facebook page:
Well, the surgery was nowhere as traumatic as I feared. They zapped my right eye today and, despite some slight blurriness which, barring any complications, should clear up by tomorrow, I feel pretty normal.
They will be working on my left eye on Tuesday, June 15th since, in case of complications, the doctor wouldn... See More’t operate on both at once. As it turns out, these initial treatments are to seal up some leakage in my eyeballs which have caused swelling in my retina. After this I will have to return to have the blood vessels gathering around my eyes cauterized and then dissolved. Hopefully, there will be no complications there either and my vision should start to settle into a state of normality, which could take as short as a few days to as long as a couple of months.
So, while I’m not completely out of the woods and have to go through a few more procedures than I had counted on, the outlook looks very good (if a touch out of focus at the moment).
