It took me a couple of hours yesterday to figure it out, but I finally got it to work. I had to borrow my sons PSP, and it was the first time I ever handled it, so that was part of the reason that it took so long. If your familiar with the system and it's memory card (don't forget to format it), then it can take less than 10 minutes.

Once I got it to work, I downloaded the Nintendo, Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo emulators, inlcuding a handful of games. Being able to play Mike Tysons punch-out after all these years was a blast! I just wish the Super Nintendo emulators worked better, as Super Punch-Out was really too sluggish to play (but it looked great!).

Gruson, thanks for passing along the info!

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

OK guys,

The SNES emulator that works the best is U-SNES or something like that.

Games are NOT sluggish if you up the CPU to 333Mhz and skip frames to 2 or 3.

I have been playing Ultimate Mortal Kombat and other games at full speed now flawlessly.

No worries on setting the Mhz to 333...PSP does support it. It should show up as red in the set up menu.

Enjoy!

As for Genesis, I have not yet tried that one.

Yes, Mike Tyson's punch out on the NES still rocks!!!

For Genesis, I use DGen. It already clocks the speed at 333mhz and the skip frame rate is set at 3. I've been playing strider, splatterhouse 2, & spiderman. But X-men doesn't work. I can't find street fighter 2 or any mortal kombat. The ones I find are .bin extensions.

the ninja gaiden series brings a tear to my eye. Plus the legendary code for the 30 men in Contra works too.

The SNES emu is good but DGEN is better.

I apologize for what will probably be a very silly question, but how do you adjust the Mhz and skip frames? Nester J is working fine (thanks to the instructions posted by Gruson!) but the SNES emulator is a bit sluggish.

Easy, hit the little circle thingie that's on the left of the PSP to the left while the SNES emulator is active. Then switch to 333.

Thanks for the info and the step-by-step, Gruson!

Guess what? After I installed the SNES Emulator and Nester J, the Nester J start-up screen turned pink and froze...and now, the PSP won't read the memory card! I even tried the card on my PC and it says that no disk has been inserted. I've tried reformatting it and it says "no memory stick is inserted!" Oh well..that's 512 MB down the drain.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions for saving the memory stick, I'd greatly appreciate any!

Yup. The software is 1.5. Both emulators were working fine in the morning. When I tried to use NesterJ again in the evening, the star-up screen for the emulator was pink and I could select a game, but couldn't play it. I restarted and after that, the PSP wouldn't recognize the memory card at all.
