In their view, companies competing in the same region with the same product makes no business sense or marvel and sideshow are just that tight with ea other.
They probably are paid royalties based on the number of units sold as well.

I doubt it has anything with how tight SS and Marvel are, odds are SS paid Marvel extra to get an exclusive 1:4 license for North America and other places...
I imagine it probably made sense to Marvel since 5-6 years ago there wasn't a lot business making 1:4 statues... Now that there are several companies Marvel would probably make more money not selling anyone exclusive licenses...

That Sideshow piece looks like a 15 year old girl instead of a powerful woman.

I don't even consider the SS comiquette and XM statue the same kind of piece. The comiquette is animated.
The first SS PF was always strange to me as I felt the body sculpt looked very stylized/cartoonish and the portraits were more realistic.
The XM vs the newest SS PF is the best comparison imo and I like this one more.

I owned the SS comiquette for awhile and while it was a nice 1:5 statue I have to agree it was more stylized then realistic looking plus the portrait was ok but nothing great...
The last two PF's SS has done of Emma have not been that great, the newest one doesn't even look remotely like Emma IMO, the one before it had a really weird body sculpt to it...
All we have so far from XM is a the artwork but XM is usually fairly close to it with the finished sculpt.
