DC also put out some super-sized books.
I recall the Famous 1st Editions by DC (I had them all, but sold).

I also had some Batman, Superman, Legion of Super-Heroes as well as House of Mystery and Ghosts.

What I really liked by DC was the exact opposite of the Treasury Edition...the Digest! Those Blue Ribbon Digest books were really cool. I sold all those too!

Wasn't there a DC one w/Superman vs. Muhammed Ali?

Yes there was. If I recall, they fought under "red sun lamps" to make it an even match.
Can't remember who won.

My money is on Ali.

Those are nice. I didn't realize there were Holiday editions. Those would be great to have, especially that first one (I try to collect Christmas comic covers, but it's tough, especially since a lot of them are rare GA stuff...)

I have a few of these--most notably, two Star Wars ones.

Indeed! Drawn beautifully by Neal Adams! Ali took out Superman who, surprisingly, gave Ali a little trouble in the ring...but not for long. The ending was great with Superman and Ali grasping hands and Ali saying, "Superman, WE are the greatest!"

Bart, I still have nearly all the Treasury Editions you've listed. They were lots of fun to pick up when they came out. The first Thor one, recounting the full story of Thor's encounter with Hercules to where he journeys to Hades to battle Plutos hoards to free Hercules' soul is one of my absolute favorite story arcs in the history of Marvel Comics.

T,

There are 3 of them with Christmas themes. All are pretty cheap and not hard to find.

Geez, these bring back memories. Marvel Treasuries were my very first comics, at the tender age of five! The local K-Mart had tons of them, and since Mom and Dad knew I liked Spider-Man on The Electric Company, they figured why not get me a stack of them, since they were so big, cheap, and full of lots of colorful pictures.

Cool. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll keep an eye out.
