Agreed that is why I have picked up Spidey for the 1st time in years and have loved it,I'm good with Ock staying but we got over a years worth and that was more than I thought. Always trying to please a movie audence which rarely impacts any books sales.

April, eh? Could it be an April's Fool joke? I, for one, prefer to have Peter back, but as others said I'm not fan of the art. There are many other comic-fans who were unhappy with the replacement of Peter with Otto, and I believe they are in majority, so I don't think upcoming movie is the main reason for the change.

to be fair, comic fans are pretty much unhappy with everything
also, Spidey has seen his best sales in years on top of month after month of top 10 sales since SSM came to be. I just find this an odd move that shouldn't coincide with a movie's release.
They'll gain a few sales in the first few issues of ASM then Spidey will fall back out of the top 10 where he was prior to SSM

Spidey, like Batman, has suffered in the books due to over production. The need to pump out the volume of books they do really killed consistently quality story telling imho. Constantly trying to one up and over complicating and convoluting the books under the guise of making them 'must reads' has hurt the industry. Look at the mess Spidey's universe rouges gallery has become as a result of the need to one up themselves in a ceaseless parade of books. Less would be more.
The appeal of the Superior Spider-man was that it was something fresh and new that kind of stood alone.

Just finished reading issues 1 - 12 of Superior Spider-Man on Marvel Unlimited and love Doc Ock as Spidey. Dan Slott hit the jackpot with this idea.

The only Spider-Man I still read is the newspaper strip where Peter is still married to Mary Jane.

Since Peter's returning that means Doc Ock will get a new body as well.

Wudn't that be interesting if Doc Ock became an anti-hero like Punisher or Deadpool? There was an issue of Superior Spider-Man where Octavious "saw" the difference between teaming up with bad guys vs teaming up with other heroes. That's the great thing about most of Spidey's rogue's gallery, the bad guys aren't really bad.
