The thing is though, at least in my experience, people will either buy 1 character, or all of them. MKX for example, Predator was a huge single selling character, but anyone who purchased the MK characters as they released bought all of them. Again just me speaking, but I've never seen someone buy something like 3 of 6 characters. If you like the game you usually get all of them, and if you don't like the game you get none. Just my 2 cents.

I will just buy the chicks.

I should have my geek card revoked -- but I never played the first one.
Can somebody explain the premise to me? I got out of fighting games (e.g., SF, MK) years ago. Is this all Injustice is? Versus with DC characters?

Yup! Think of it as mortal kombat with DC characters minus the gore.
It's a one on one fighting game with the same style of gameplay as mortal kombat - not street fighter

Alternate reality in which Superman executes the Joker for tricking Clark into killing Lois and their unborn child by making him think she was Doomsday. This leads to Superman slowly establishing a totalitarian regime that is opposed by Batman and his insurgency. When the insurgency starts to take heavy losses they recruit the Justice League from another dimension to help.
The story elements and mini games are surprisingly excellent and you can likely get the complete version of the first game for less than $20 at this point.

Ah, so it's got a story/mini game element and not total VS mode.
I assume you can play against other online peeps and not just the comp?
I will see if it's on XBox marketplace for a decent price. Thanks guys!

Loads more than that - the first game spawned several years of alternate reality DC comics and it's own expanded story/universe. Injustice 2 is said to have the largest single player story campaign that they have ever done, including Mortal Kombat X and 9. Plus there are other game modes they haven't discussed but touched on, like Multiverse where you have to go through various challenges with specific requirements. There should be lots to do outside of the online and local multiplayer for sure!

I don't really like the attempted amalgamation of Suicide Squad and Original Jokers, and the super is a bit....hammy?

Agreed, they should have released Joker's first, then Darkseid, then Brainiac. I guess they figured he's the most recognizable to casuals so they saved him for the finale. Hopefully he's not garbage tier again in this game.
