Just ordered one from Spec Fiction, so some second party retailers still have them - for now at least...and at $580

I ended up grabbing one on BBTS. I had a credit there so it worked out. Spec Fic has changed the price 3 times. 640 then 580 now back to 600. Plus $40 ship. I figured with my credit and free ship BBTS was the way to go this time otherwise I would have gotten on Spec Fic. This will be my first WETA LOTR and I am not sure I could have started out with a better one. OK maybe Treebeard.

Not really, it's just popular. And made by Jane Wenley who worked on the films which makes Weta feel that bit more special.
