I know it's a Greek helmet, but it does look too much like Roma style helmets. I believe that the helmet with full face guard and nose ridges looks better because of the resemblance to other Greek characters we are so used to see with this kind of helmet

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

The idea for this piece is that she is confronting Ares in battle.

If you guys notice, the dead soldier at Ares feet has a shield with Medusa's head which is a symbol of Athena.

So the idea is to depict both during the Trojan war in which Ares took the side of the Trojans, and Athena fought for the Greeks!

That is why Ares diorama is so Greek like with columns and Greek soldiers dead at his feet.

Now you guys can see that I do my research.... Hahah!!!!!
Medusa is not a symbol for Athena but the name, in fact, means protection. Even warriors would have her on their breast plates or armor as a sign against evil.

I think it is because it was Athena who created Medusa, and at the end, Medusa's head ended up in Athena's shield, so Medusa's head as a symbol of fear came from there because before that Medusa was still alive!

I personally really like the current helmet Alex has on her. But perhaps a change-o-head with her helmet raised high.

Your correct, Medusa was raped by Poseidon but she got no sympathy from Athena and Athena turned her into the monster. Before being turned into the monster she was one of the most beautiful women in Greece.

I agree. But if you look deeper, the gorgon concept really came from dead rotting bodies on the battlefield. Some were used as weapons to spread disease against the enemy. She was also the back in their day boogie man. So, IMO, they very good story tellers.
