Rurouni Kenshin
My son played the Samurai X episodes for me (we watched them together) and I really liked them, though not as much as Trigun. We're now watching the more watered down follow up to Samurai X, Rurouni Kenshin and, just the first couple of disks into it, it's a fun show though, again, not yet at the level of Trigun.
Anyone else like this one?

always liked Kenshin, Samurai X is quite brutal and enjoyable but the Kenshin series has an obviously lighter tone to it, it does however get much better later on when he fights some of the much stronger enemies

the first episode of season two has more blood than the whole first season, but the first season is really just to get a feel for all the characters and what their motives, goals, and whatnot are. then they complete all of the above in the second season. then of course, there is the reflection movie, which is so fantastic, that it did literally bring me to tears and i'm not ashamed to say it

I'm looking forward to watching the Reflection movie with you, young man, when we get to it in our viewing rotation!

One of my favorite anime. Really enjoyed the show and the OVA. Check out the manga as well since the last arc is different (better) from the anime.
