Throwing a bit of Killzone 3 into the mix
The storyline through these games is fantastic most probably the best in FPS games IMO

Really? You think systems have come that far since the ps3 and 360?!
I hope you are not waiting on that because you will be waiting a very very long time. Unless you want games like Nighttrap (Showing my Age a bit..lol)..see below if you don't know about that mess of a game...

Thanks for the info...
GOW and the Uncharted series are the 2 main reasons I own a PS3..I am more of a 360 Fan by far...But these 2 series are some of the best games out.

Rented Dishonored for the night; was gonna rent Hitman instead, but neither Redbox had their copy in.. boo.
But still.. this will get Dishonored off my mind if it turns out that I don't like it. They had Halo 4 as well, but I'd probably put waaay too much time into it in the next couple of days... finishing it.. and have eaten up my two days off in the process. Not a fan of that. lol

... glad I rented Dishonored; played it for about an hour... no thank you.
I don't know/care if the game mechanics evolve over playtime, but as they stood at the beginning... it's a step back some 20 years in terms of gaming development.
.. and the graphics aren't much better. lol

... which also leads me to believe that some on-line reviewers are still being paid off to pad reviews with higher scores.
Usually I use my best judgment and don't go by reviews... I rent a game to see for myself as I have confidence in the developers, or read consumer reviews (a different animal entirely)... but this game, though I only gave it an hour/two hours tops to prove itself and hadn't yet unlocked any "powers"/etc? The melee/shooting mechanics were archaic, and the graphics were straight out of the late 90's, at least those that I witnessed, anyways.

That wouldn't surprise me. I loved EGM magazine reviews back in the day becuase they would have panel of reviewers for each game. Each reviewer would give their likes / dislikes and a score. Not all of them would score the game the same, which is cool because everyone has different tastes. Then they would average out the scores to get the final one. Now I don't take online reviewers seriously. Sometimes I find games they gave a good score I didn't ilke or games they give a low score I liked a lot. I love when a game company release a demo because that way I don't have to rent it if I'm curious about a game. Although a demo sometimes is to short to find out if a game will get better later on. That happened to me with Uncharted, the demo did't really grab me but luckily I bought the game anyways and loved it.
