Unless the base really plays into the statue (like a basilisk fighting Red Sonya) I feel this way too. I like minimal bases as elaborate ones add $200-300 and don't do much for me.

It?s a yes or no poll lol. Personally a statue should be viewed in all angles especially when you are paying so much for it. Look at XM, they did one Spidey / MJ Dio and stopped making these perspective bases after people compliant. Now you have ssc doing 5 in just a short while. Majority of people don?t like them. Art direction from ssc needs to know this and should listen to there customers.

I'd be fine with a puck base as well if there's some sort of texture on top of it that relates to the statue. Otherwise I like bases with small footprints, not more than necessary:

I don't think its a yes or no answer, just depends on the piece. To be fair you haven't seen them in person to then say "ya that only looks good at this angle"

Sideshow will listen, but ultimately its going to come down to how many people PO. If lots they will complete the line for those folks. If not many then they will move on. This forum to be fair is a small number of people who PO.

Keep in mind when SS shows these pieces, they are at the factory already way into the production phase, why they don't change much if they can help it and if its not popular they will have a small ES and move on.

Besides its not the last Spiderman Sideshow will do, will see another in likely less than 3 years. Then there's XM and the several dozen from custom groups.

It feels like whoever is Sideshow's art director really loves the anime style forced perspective, but that does NOT carry over well with a 1/4 scale museum style statue!!

Aesthetically, it looks GOOFY AF!

I hope when Sideshow later realizes when they have a warehouse full of these unsold statues collecting dust, they will not try this goofy gimmick again.

But then again, that's just my opinion....
