Doubtful ... Clark and Lois had never met in the original movie until he got to the Daily Planet remember? Much less how would they explain Lois's line about her "sweet grey haired old mother" when Lois would have already met Martha in Smallville?

I didnt hear anything about this. I dont think the movies have much to do with Smallville. Even if they did, Pa Kent dies in Superman I. Smallville takes place before this first movie. That's why he's alive in the tv show.

PLUS PLUS, continuity was thrown out the window when Lex showed up in Smallville in the first episode. Going against the movies and comics. Unless you count pre-Crisis DC.

He never really fit in the show to me. He seemed so out of place.

In new DC continuity Lex DID indeed live in Smallville. Check out Superman: Birthright by Mark Waid.

I read something to that effect. But I also read somewhere else that DC has yet to decide whether Birthright should be taken as part of current continuity or not.

Once Infinate Crisis is over we will be back to having MANY multiple earths, so "Birthright" will be in continuity, for THAT Earth anyway!
Oh yeah, Lois Lane must die!
