That was my second or third comic that I ever bought. It has its cover missing but I had always thought that Grell's art was great, but I had not noticed that Shooter was the writer. Wow.

Marvel Treasury Edition #1 (197?). I had almost a full run of these. Great for little kids...

BTW, maybe one of you could help me identify one of my earlier recollections from back then. It was a DC book with a Terra-Man backup story, where he meets a blue-skinned alien with a mohawk. I believe it was drawn by Gil Kane. Can't remember the title or issue #.

my first one was detective comics #443 batman and paul kirk manhunter. course i was about 5, maybe 6. and i colored all over it with a crayon. but i was hooked. and started collecting from then on. and when i was about 25, i found all the detective comics that paul kirk was in and bought them all for $30.00 all mint

My First Comic

my first book was fantastic four 73 where spider-man,daredevil,and thor battle the f.f. this was the one that started it all for me. this was back in 1968 i believe when i was 4 years old.

i feel like my 1st book was the greatest joker stories ever told tpb. i remember my pops bringing it home at like 3 am from nyc and waking me up in the mid of the night. i was real young. he had this **** eating grin and gave me the book. ill never forget that.
