I found another artist I really like...Cristina McAllister

I have the Lumina Chronicles and Magical Beauties. She really does great illustrations. My only criticism is the paper her books are printed on. The pages are thin, but textured. I don't really like it. Due to the texture, you have to layer your pencil or push hard, which does not work good on thin paper. She does offer digital versions of her books on her site. I think I might go that way in the future.

Yeah, I have purchased quite a few of Bennett Kleins books including Vol.1 through Vol.4 of his Color My SKetchbook series and I recently ordered his "Darker" and "Characters" books although I haven't even looked through those latest 2 purchaes yet. Thier basically included in a big stack of books I have purchased recently so I just haven't gotten around to them yet.
As for Cristina McAllister, no I have no expereince with any of her books, but I will definitey give them a look if you recommend them.
I did just wind up buying a couple copies of J Scott Campbell's coloring book entitled "Danger Girl: Permission to Thrill COLORING BOOK" as J Scott Campbells's store has the SDCC variant for that book up for sale. I always buy 2 of every coloring book I buy, 1 to collect and 1 to actually color so I urchased 2 of his SDCC versions.
Here is a pic and a link in case anyone is intersted.

Even tho I Hate that he is now charging for signatures when he used to automatically sign everything n his storefront for no additional charge, I wound up picking up the signed version as opposed to the unsigned versions.

So many good books coming out.
I think I might go for a couple of the above.
I won't buy xenescope books anymore.
Just don't like them.
But the two Aspen and new Harley books look interesting.

Absolutely. Just getting back into it actually. I don't do a lot of coloring during my working months (April - Sept) as I just dont have the time. Its usually around this time of year (end of Septmeber, eary October) that I start getting back into all my various hobbies.
I recieved my Dawn McTeigue packs and will likely break open the Scary Stories pack this week. Also need to check the market and see what books are coming down the pipeline as I haven't kept on top of that the last few months.

I might have to get those Dawn McTigue packs. Does she do them unbound? I was going to get one of the Aspen books, but if they are comparable to the crappy Zenescope books, I am going to pass.
I have been pushing off getting The Beauty of Horror books. But I think I might give in and get one. Not sure what volume yet. Might get the second.
I don't color on a consistent basis, usually when I get stressed out. Maybe once a week. It really helps me clear my mind.

The Dawn McTigue packs are unbound and are on a heavier loose leaf card stock. They are more expensive, but the quality is definitely WELL above your average coloring books. Part of the reason I purchased them is because I have wanted to try copic marker drawing again since its become so popular in the comic market these days. I purchased a set awhile back and really never put the effort into learning how to use them. I have grown to really like the copic marker look so I really want to give them another go.
And I hear ya in regards to Zenescope. I wont purchase another book from them unless they switch to a higher quality paper. Honestly, these coloring books are like a gold mine for comic companies. Its like a total bonus for having all this art made up for comics and they could continue to produce more and more books for as long as people continued to buy them. Getting greedy and using crappy materials is just so stupid on so many levels.
