Type of Paints?

I have a friend who wants to try to paint a Superman piece I've had sitting around for a while. She's a really good artist but she wants me to find out what are the best types of paints to use. Brands, is there a gloss, any tools you would suggest? Any info I can pass on would be cool.

Oh and NO it's not me, I wouldn't even try to paint.

Dura - Tell her to try acrylics. Liquitex, or Golden would be good choices if your brushing it on, Golden and ComArt if she's airbrushing. If you want a glossy finish, try Krylon Crystal Clear or if you want a matte finish, try Krylon Matte sealer or Testor's Dull Coat.

Like Rick said Liquitex is great stuff. You just have to thin the hell out of it for airbrushing. And I personally use the Krylon almost exclusively for flat coats. You pay the same price as the Testors for a much bigger can. It also seems as though they have improved the Krylon. Its seems to give a much smoother finish.

I can only echo Ricks comments though (if Behr is not her cup of tea), water based paints are the way to go. I use anything that fits the bill, Golden, Liquitex, Createx, ComArt, Badger Freak Flex, Testors, Ramiya, Gunze Sanyo, Citadel, Vallejo, FW Inks, Dr. PH Martins, Delta Ceramcoat, Apple Barrel...on and on forth and forth.

For spot gloss (eyes, mouth) Testors Clear Top Coat (in the bottle) works great!

For the putty work, AVES Apoxie Sculpt is THE stuff, don't let anyone tell you different. This is THE best putty there is.
