Question Who would do a good DBZ commission?

Hey guys. Massive DBZ fan all my life and want to get a commission done. Having a real tough time figuring out who would be good for it. A lot of comic artists just don’t “get” anime and it ends up looking bootleg when they try.

I’ve attached some great examples which all have some realism to them, though they’re all digital. These artists get it. Any ideas?

Honestly, the three best artists for this style are hard to deal with.

There's always Joe Mad.. but yea. Then there's Artgerm... but again, yea.. Then there's Ale Garza. But I wouldn't ever trust dealing with him cuz he's shady.

If known/big names aren't a problem for you, there are a couple of people from DeviantArt who would do a good custom.

Sakimichan does great stuff, but he's digital. Rob Duenas does fantastic cartoon stuff, and his 'saucy' pieces are fantastic. And the last person I can think of would be Mike Maihack, who does more "cute" stuff that would look good maybe with a Dragonball Bulma/kida Goku scene.

Good luck =)

Thanks guys. I should have added that I'm not looking to spend five figures

Joe Mad, Artgerm, and Capullo would all be great -- but they either don't do commissions or cost a bajillion dollars

@Disco –-Don't need a name, just someone to execute properly.

The digital guys don't typically carry over to traditional, I've reached out to a number of them with no luck. Not looking for something cute.

Appreciate all the suggestions!

Hands down. Jeffrey "Chamba" Cruz of Udon fame. He is a HUGE DBZ fan and his style suits it perfectly.

Check out his DeviantArt page and search for Dragon Ball:

I got a Vegeta commission from him and I was thoroughly satisfied.

You could try Mike Bowden. He posts on SF sometimes. He's got an anime style kinda like Joe Mad.
