oh, another thing for you DLSR folks (like me). the viewfinder is much like you'd expect on a point/shoot camera. i plan on getting something like this. i believe it's a cheaper alternative than Panasonic's more expensive LVF (live viewfinder).

One quesion, is the video HD and if so is it compressed? I have a new Sony camera and it takes HD but has its own format. Plays great on the Playstation 3.

it shoots either in AVCHD Lite or Motion JPEG compression

thanks for the heads up on playing video on the PS3! i totally forgot to try that. i have a Mitsubishi tv that has card slots for SDHC, Compact Flash, firewire, etc. i couldn't figure how to add a device to access the SDHC card that the GF-1 uses.

i'll try that tonight!

more sample shots. using the built-in 2sec timer on these until i get my remote shutter release and L bracket. i'm really loving this mini camera. it's so easy to work with.

you don't.

DSLR's are still better quality but these are just so fun to play with! they make for nice everyday carry cameras. you wouldn't want to use these for professional shoots. you'll look like a pansy!

now i need to test it outdoors..
