What's most important in a comic arc ending?
- Return to the status quo
- A happy ending
- A shock or twist
- A world changing event
- Something that has personal ramifications for your protagonist
- A summary type ending with all loose ends addressed in prose
- An ending that poses a greater question
- Sad but necessary ending

it depends on if it's a mini series or an on going book. in a mini or a short run, I usually tie up all the loose ends and give it some closure since the story is in it's own pocket universe. If it's a story arc in a continuing book, I give it closure, but leave it open so events from that arc can influence the character's future actions, or so the events can cause a ripple effect later on in the book

Any of the endings listed are fine except for the "ending that poses a greater question." It's become too common an option for my tastes where I've sworn off most miniseries from both DC and Marvel. IMO, each miniseries should have a beginning, middle and ending besides "to be continued in..."
The straw that broke the camel's back for me were Amazons Attack (a cliffhanger with the amazons enslaved?) and the Inhuman's Silent War (who really believes that Maximus is going to keep the throne and Medusa???). C'mon!

All of them are good, but have to go with:
Something that has personal ramifications for your protagonist
Goes along with with character development and seeing that the character is evolving and not just staying in the same rut year after year.

I'd go with a satisfying ending that makes sense given the story that's just been told.
