Btw, can anyone explain what's the correlation between MTO & ES? (https://www.xm-studios.com/content/s...-po-dates.aspx)
ES is edition size, or the number of pieces being made. For example, Dark Phoenix was pre-set at 999 which is also the max for their Marvel pieces.

MTO is what they're (mostly) doing now for new upcoming pieces. Once the official pre-order period starts you will have two months (formerly two weeks) to place an order. Once those two months have passed, they compile their orders and set an ES based on how many orders they got (with the max still being 999).

You just have to be patient and you will get a good deal on these. On Sat a collector from Australia posted a XM Cable for $1100 AUD. It sold quickly!

I am hoping in a year or two a Canuck will sell DP for a good price and grab her.

I wonder if XM is interested in explaining this one? Usually good about communicating with customers....

I think one of my problems is the middle men jump the gun on pre order as soon as they whiff it. So when I paid it probably was 6 more months before actual pre order.

I'm a bit nervous about the middlemen game for XM pieces as we move through a saturated market. Margins for them will become tighter and money goes out to them with the long game meaning, pay a year or so out with no financial protections? Yeah....

The actual PO period for Dark Phoenix was Feb. 21 through March 7, 2018.
