The HS code 6810.99.0080 (articles of cement or concrete - or more specifically "manhole covers") also has a duty fee of 6.5%. However, it's the wrong code. We are not buying manhole covers. As goodness knows how many statues have been shipped under this improper code in the past month serves as compelling narrative with regards to how scrutinized these customer invoices are by CBSA.

Many of our statues can fall under the memorabilia HS code which has no duty. It looks like there may be some growing pains on this one until it gets sorted out. Surely, SS can't keep declaring statues as manhole covers.

Not sure what code was used on Capt Marvel but I was charged only $58 for it ($340 US), which as far as I can tell, was only taxes (13%) and no duty.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I just got charged almost $175 by FedEx for my Darkseid. What an f'n joke. That's just flat out robbery. Not happy about this at all. I hope SS opens up a factory up here like F4F just did and bypass this ridiculous tariff.

Agreed. If F4F can do it, Sideshow most definitely can.

That is crazy. I would definitely question that one.

I received $141 bill for a custom statue that I paid $750 US. How the heck you get a $175 charge on $600 US. Heck, the dollar is doing better now than December when I paid the $141.

Are you going to file a dispute with CBSA. I would.

No, don't think so. Based on the Canadian cost, I paid 13% tax (Ontario) and $10 handling fee, so no biggy. They know how much I paid for the statue because they asked for paypal invoice.
