there are places on the internet that have better looking cabinets fir these pieces than ikeas over priced particle board cabinets. I found one place in particular in the u.k. that if you send them your dimensions of the case you want they will cut the aluminum frame and ship it to you, only thing you have to do is assemble the frame, buy the glass and install it. they even have sliding glass doors for the front, all kinds of cases/cabinets to choose from and customize for your statues. I don't think any of the ikea cabinets have glass sides. I would much rather have glass on the sides and top to view 3/4 of my thousand dollar statue. but I see folks spending so much on statues and nothing on the cabinet its displayed in, makes it look cheap. but if everyone wants the same ol thing...even craigslist has better options for glass display cases than ikea

Ikea is not too bad, but I agree that statue/hobby collecting that gets into the 1000$ range should have a good investment in a proper/high quality display. Particle board isnt terrible if you A) don't move often, or B) keep water away.
I just don't power wash my PF's anymore, it totally ruined my shelves.

LOL ^ well i'm really serious. im broke as hell right now. but this guy about 90 miles aways is selling 2 huge display cabinets, like the ones you see in department stores (for instance the ones you see in the perfume department at macys, belks, ect..) all glass, for $25 a piece, so im going to bum so cash tomorrow and pick one up. thats craigslist. plus if you check the newspapers, lots of businesses are liquidating everything, that means display cabinets for cheap, a lot cheaper than those 1000 dollar ikea cabinet. i found a motor cycle shop once getting rid of some really nice display cases, but they were already sold by the time i got there.
