A mechanical pencil will work. Make sure your paint is sealed very well and have at it.

I have always used a transparent paint and a 20/0 liner brush...very very tedious!

Thanks for the feather brush idae, Nuffy, but I've never used one before...any good?

And Rick, what the heck is a mechanical pen??

And Danno's idea sounds good only if I have a liner brush that tiny, probably have to pay another visit to the hobby shop...
As for transparent paint, the one I'm working on has dark skin tone, brownish color.
so should I jusy dilute the black paint or find transparent grey paint?

Thanks again for the replies, folks, and is there any techniques I need to follow through?

LOL!! It's one of the pencils that you push down on the top and the graphite comes out of the tip.

It works well, and is forgiving. If you hose it up, you can gently erase the mark as long as you've sealed your paint well.
