Godzilla 2014 7/10

I'm not a massive fan and actually quite like the 90s version.

Pretty decent intro the the character and fight scenes.

Interested to see what they do with the sequel

I agree.
If this this movie flops (like I believe it will..) Warner Bros will likely lose a ton of money. Will the brothers be trusted with a big budget film again?
Probably not.

Shame, because behind all the mess is a decent idea for a film.
But some of the dialogue! Sooooo cheesy that sometimes it actually makes you flinch.

5 people (including me and wife) for the evening Imax viewing.... Not a good sign.

Anger Management ~ 1/5

...ugh. Just painful to watch in 2015.
Adam Sandler was definitely a product of the 90's/early 2000's.

He is alright. Like many actors/comedians that are a product of SNL, he was able to create a following since those early 90's days. Most of his fans grew up with him therefore the share the same type of childish, simpleton and slapstick humor. But how many fart jokes can people take, it is beyond me.

Wait until you are a grandfather. Nothing gets grandkids laughing like just saying fart.

The Seventh Son - 6/10

When I was a kid in the 70's, I used to devour fantasy & sword 'n sorcery books, like the Shannara series, Myth Adventures, Thieves World, etc ... + I played tons of D&D. All the while thinking that maybe one day, I'd see fantasy like I read up on the big screen. For these reasons, The Seventh Son kind of worked for me. Dragons, trolls, D&D type spirits & demons, at times even given "level" type descriptions by Witch-Hunter, Jeff Bridges. You see castles, towns & even buildings & forests straight out of the old paperback series from the 70's. I was cinematically satisfied visually. But ... the story itself was rather weak. A love story threaded through which didn't feel natural at all & dragged the movie down. Jeff Bridges, I can see how one could interpret, played his role "over the top", but I love this actor & dug his take.
I'd see this only if you're passionate about old fantasy series, or rolled the dice w/ a Monster Manual back in the day. Then, you might enjoy it.
