Jokes on Canada aside, it seems like this fellow could have taken 8 tables and no one would have made a peep (other than doing so online). The con organizers could have sent him home -- but that just doesn't appear to happen at cons in general. As "guests" are a major draw at cons, perhaps the con organizers felt unsure how to proceed with minimal risk. In other words, if you piss off one artist, then you might risk losing all the other artists associated with that particular booking agent for future cons. Who knows? It should be interesting to see what happens the next time this fellow usurps other artists' tables at a con. The con organizers appeared to have come off surprisingly accommodating and polite.

Did anyone catch in the CBR piece where he called Jim Zub of IDW's Samurai Jack a "fan artist"? We now have proof that the talk of Suydam holding other creators in contempt is true. No wonder he keeps stealing table space from others and getting belligerent if anyone tries to stop him; he really does see everyone else in the industry as beneath him.
Oh, and Francis Manapul called BS on Suydam's rant.

When my son was 5-6 he had a small sketch book 2x3 inches that he got free sketches in. He went to Golden's table and Michael took it and was about to start when renae came over and informed him he was not to do any free sketching. When she turned around he grabbed back the book and did a sketch.
