I think your right for the most part, but I'm a true nerd who just loves cool looking art pieces, although I think there's different types of collectors, because I see lots of people hoping for a Cinderella statue, just because the artist will make her sexy looking, I doubt many 30 or 40 year old guys love Cinderella as a character, I definitely think they buy them for the artistic approach, but hey I'm just happy sideshow finally "sorta showed" something I like and I hope everybody who loves Marvel, DC, Star Wars, FF's and everybody else gets something cool in the following days, and truly it would be boring if we all liked the exact same thing anyways

I'd prefer more established comic book characters as well. Court of the Dead seems to have done quite well though, so obviously there's an audience for original SS characters.

+1 for hoping they give the SideShow Originals a backstory like they did Court of the Dead. That would make it an easier buy...

Gentle Giant tried this with their Honey Trap line. Granted the release wasn’t perfect but resales on this line aren’t, what I would call, good. Can’t imagine the COTD or these will do well either. JMO.

I mainly collect original works now, so the fact that Sideshow announced 3 original pieces is exciting to me. I'm looking forward to the reveals.

I just hope the actual statues are more exciting than those generic looking silhouettes.

I agree but at the same time IT IS better than just showing a logo. Can’t put anything into that. With the silhouettes there’s at least an idea of what’s coming. Yet still the final product could look hideous, we don’t know, lol. Still, it beats just showing a logo.

Dr. Strange is a strong potential for me. Taskmaster if he looks cool and classic will be a buy. But Storm is almost a guarantee. Even though I’m sure she’ll be in the costume I already have (XM). I’d still get her.
