The lasso confuses me.

Is all the entwining in and around her various limbs supposed to represent it's being used against her?
Is she supposed to look clumsy?

Also could do without the Batman-on-a-gargoyle-like inevitability of yet more broken greek columns as a base.
It would be cool once in a while to see more of Paradise Island's topography than just the obligatory Grecian ruins.

Portrait looks quite nice though, and the figure is dynamic.

I think this was from Diana's campaign to have rhythmic gymnastics included in the Olympic Games.

There is plenty of art showing WW's lasso going crazy all around her. The statue just looks like a 3D comic book cover or art print.

But what does it mean? What is the science behind it? So confusing.

It's entirely personal preference I guess.

I've never been a fan of art that is mostly hyper-realistic that then introduces an incongruous prop or aspect that is totally non-sensical and solely intended as a design element to "look cool or interesting".

You can usually get away with it on a pin-up, as the art is already mostly stylized and the design is a compositional element within a specific height/width "frame" .
In three dimensions, with a figure and base that are classically sculpted to be true and "accurate" (the reaction of muscles, skin, clothing, etc), those kinds of after-the-fact design flourishes can be really hit and miss to me.
They miss here- for me.

But again, personal preference. I'm rarely in the mainstream with this stuff anyway.
If this is what floats your boat, enjoy!

Well, they've shown this now. Hair looks different, but face and arm position seem to be the same, so I don't dare open a new thread.

Wow, she looks amazing!! This is so obviously Gal Gadot though, how they're going to pass this off as the "comic version" is beyond me. But I can't believe they were able to sculpt and paint her likeness this well at 1/4 scale! This is probably the best portrait of Gal outside of the Queen and Infinity full scale busts. Absolutely insane.

Where did you get these photos btw? I didn't see them on their social media anywhere.
