Skydiving?

How many people here have been? I've been thinking about it for years now - and I think I am ready to do it!

It's awesome, but when you jump out of the plane... prepare to mentally sh!t your pants.

There's a sky-diving "program" right outside of my city.

I have 35 or 36 jumps and have earned my basic skydiving license. It is a rush and I was just telling my wife that I want to start jumping again sometime soon. It is not cheap, but it is a lot of fun and you get the chance to meet a totally different kind of person while jumping. My recommendation is to go to http://www.uspa.org/ and find a drop zone in your area and just hang out and get a feel of the vibes. If it looks like folks are having fun and are relaxed, then start asking questions and if they don't treat you like sh!t, then go for it. If they do, find a new place. JMO.

You are exactly right!

The laid back jumpers are the true jumpers. The stuck up snobby jumpers are the ones trying to prove something to themselves.

Mikey is giving good advice!

Try parasailing first, Ryan... if you're fine with that, you'll probably have no problem Sky-diving; have them give you the full extent of the rope (I think it's 1000 feet.. maybe 2000? Been a while).

I mean.. towed parasailing.. behind a boat.. if that's available anywhere near.. you.. in.. Massachu.....never mind.

Boat yes! Definitely!

I don't recommend para-sailing behind a car!

I hear ya!

Rule of thumb: Don't jump with people that only care about their own lives.

Some people mistake parasailing for hang-gliding, Pat.
