As a very few of you know, we moved from New York to Kansas City fourteen years ago for me to take a phenomenal job and create a more sane lifestyle for our family of five. Well, the awesome job lasted 7 years and since that time, the last 7 years, I've been slugging it out in a job and for a company I really can't much stand making half of what I used to make. But it was worth it as we were able, more or less, to maintain our lifestyle and not relocate family/kids.
Well, my job has become more and more of a nightmare and, with two out of three kids now out of the house, my wife gave me the go-ahead that she was willing to relocate if it was the right job for me and right location for her and my remaining son.
I'm happy to report that, after an extensive interview process that's lasted three months, I've landed an incredibly senior level job in Denver, where I'm reporting into the CEO of a $2 Billion firm, that pays about 3x what I make now and is a dream job for me. My wife's ecstatic about leaving KC for Denver, where she has family. My 15 year old son is not quite so happy. But, still, this is a huge opportunity for me and a hugely positive change for my wife.
As I work with my hiring firm's relocation company to get me (first) and then my family settled, as well as settle into this new role in this new company, I have no idea for how long it may seem like I've dropped off the face of the Earth. You guys all know how important this forum, and writing my comic book reviews, is to me. So, if I seem gone for extended periods of time I wanted you to know that all the coming positive chaos in my life is the reason why.
to me!!
