The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Diamond Select Astonishing Cyclops

As I am sure everyone on the Bowen forum knows, I am a huge Cyclops fan. I usually buy every piece that is made featuring him. My most recent purchases were the Jim Lee Medium statue and the Evolution Maquette. The medium statue was a disappointment and the Maquette is almost too cartoonish, but is a very nice piece.

That being said, I received my Diamond Select Astonishing X-men Cyclops mini bust last week in the mail. I was very happy with the out come of the bust. The flat paint job is very nice and it is a perfect rendition of Cassaday’s new costume. The figure features a piece of The Phoenix costume as well as pieces of ruby quartz at the base of the mini bust.

My only concerns are the weight and the visor paint. The bust is top heavy which could lead to it being easily knocked over. Also the paint job on his visor is poor. The red was quickly brushed on and is uneven. It would have been much better if the same type of material that was used as the quartz on the base was used in the visor. I give this a four out of five overall though. The bust is a very good rendition of The Astonishing X-Men Cyclops and even though it is top heavy, the piece is still pretty sturdy. Also the bust has a going price on eBay of about $35. If you are a X-Men fan, Cassaday fan or a fan of this character I think that this bust is a must at such a reasonable price.

Hope you enjoyed my first review.

About six inches. It is a little bit lager than phase 1 of Bowen scale but it fits well with the new Bowens I'll post a pict of it in my case later.

This is turning out to be a really nice series. DST should do more lines like this -- nicely sculpted, good scale. I've got a feeling though that the clear Emma is gonna cost me though.

The piece is top heavy, as is the whole line except colossus. They tip over very easily, the main complaint I ahve against them.
