The Blu Ray Thread
Well, since there is a thread for HDDVD collections, I figured with the PS3 now out along with several models of Blu Ray players it was time for a thread.
I only have the pack in Talladega Nights but am looking for some new titles...anyone care to chime in on what the best disks are so far?

I think maybe Gruson has a player?! Not many ppl have said they had one. As far as good movies? I would assume you mean PQ and not quality of the movie itself?

I don't have any discs so far, but my first purchases would definitely be T1, T2, and Rocky. Almost everything else I want is available on HD-DVD.

I plan on buying the Pioneer when it becomes available. Haven't looked lately at their releases though.

I got a Samsung BD-P1000 for X-mas. The movies I have so far are -
Transporter 1&2
Fantastic Four
Superman Returns
Superman II (Donner Cut)
My wife signed us up at Netflix since they rent Blu-Ray movies, they just sent "The Descent" but it's going back for a replacement 'cos it wouldn't play.

My 1080p RS1 projector should be here next month! woo hoo!
As for BD movies, I have:
Speed
Rocky
F4
Enemy of the State
Black Hawk Down
X-men 3
The Descent
Pearl Harbor
Terminator
T2
None of these are available on HD and I most are must haves for me.
If you want to know how the quality is for different titles, check out the tier system over at AVS:

thanks for that link Gruson! very good read! it's nice to know that i'm not the only one seeing minor noise and artifacts.
congrats on your upcoming PJ. i'm jealous but i'll have to keep mine for a while before i decide to upgrade. i moved my HD player upstairs to my PJ setup. my Blu Ray player is now with my DLP set downstairs.
