Give it time, it will have plenty to say. Many many words to post, and then some.

X-23.

Well, this whole reveal has been a rollercoaster.

First pictures emerging were disappointing not because the sculpt was bad, but because it lacked that famous "Sideshow's REALISM". The costume has some texture, but the colours don't help. Also the sculpt due to the pose, the base and the empty spaces between the base and the body, creates the illusion of being "empty".

Sideshow spoiled collectors by producing HYPER-REALISTIC sculpts and this is why she is the QUEEN of the hobby.

Basically the whole market nowadays demands realism either in comic or movie pieces (with Blitzway and Infinity Studios GOATing at movie pieces. Sideshow should cooperate with these 2 companies).

So collectors correlate Sideshow with REALISM, realistic comic pieces. The reveal was INDEED a let-down.

Forps NEVER sugarcoats. I was ready to come after Sideshow's CEO (check what i wrote in that joke of a line, the Arsham one) or after whoever approved this piece lacking realistic elements.

But.............voila!

The second headsculpt was revealed and Sideshow took a page from Forps' textbook (it's obvious that Sideshow's management read Forps and takes notes, you laugh but it's rather obvious) and placed an extremely low ES of 200. The unmasked head is a nice one, what someone would expect from Sideshow and saved this piece.

This is one of the rare occasions of 100% EX or fail.

I can also see the regular having an ES of 300, barely over the ES of the EX (it would be a miracle to even fetch the 300 for the regular, i "smell" that Sideshow would set a higher ES for the regular, just to not get embarassed).

So a fail turned into a purchase and possibly a future Grail as crazy as it seems.

This was a lesson for Sideshow. HYPER-REALISM is the key.

Forps has spoken. Now close X-23's thread and move on.

1989 Pistons won't stand a chance vs ANY modern NBA team. PERIOD.

You are clearly casuals, guys.

Basketball nowadays is a trully professional sport, with analytics, guys working out shooting 5000 shots/day, having 2 people just for passing them the balls, with centers the likes of Embiid or Jokic shooting ~90% from the free throw line or ~40% from three, with basically 5 SHOOTERS on the court.

No pace back then, no shooting, no real talent.

Pistons 1989 vs ANY NBA team today. Probably something like 70-27 1q. And 180-85 final score.

This is also why i admire Lebron for. He was there at early '00s with the 4in-1 out game and he was the best player. Then Curry came and Lebron improved his shot and evolved to the 5-out era. He is a chameleon.

The most COMPLETE BASKETBALL player of all time. The HIGHEST BASKETBALL IQ. The BEST SCORER, PASSER, REBOUNDER etc the game will EVER SEE. PERIOD.

Guys, you either boomers or > 35y watching Jordan as kids and idolizing him.

Forps gives you his hand to help you elevate your way of thinking.

But you can't
. It's like saying to people living @ 1500s that they are no witches. They were not ready, you are NOT ready. Your minds are fixated.

Forps is Einstein challenging belies and standard thinking, you are, well, you....

Please, back to Sideshow!
Ehhh, this is where I think you are letting recency bias cloud your thinking. A perfect example of a team that was built like the modern age teams was the 1980's Denver Nuggets. A team that never made it past game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. They had elite scorers in Alex English/Fat Lever and later Walt Davis, They had three point shooters in Mike Evans and Micheal Adams, they had a 7 ft Centers in Danny Schayes and Blair Rasmussen that also shot over 80% from the foul line. Defensive specialists in TR Dunn and Calvin Natt. They were literally built like a modern day team and won zero titles. Why? The era was better than you give credit for. Golden State kind of wrecked modern play with their gimicky small ball shoot a bunch of 3's. It doesnt work as often as people think and you waste a bunch of empty trips hoisting up low percentage shots. You know what you didnt have a lot of in the 80'? Especially from the elite teams? Wasted trips. As much as you bash on the 80's Pistons they along with those 80's Nuggets set a record for most points in a game because they could play that way too. The Lakers/Celtics were so efficient it was hard to beat them. They were just in every game. MJ only had one semi elite teammate, Pippen. And I dont think a whole lot of Pippens game. Lebron had to go put together a super team in order to win anything. Dont get me wrong, Lebron is good, but to discount MJ? Nah, thats just looking at the current shiny thing.

Jordan. Forever the GOAT
Lebron is a joke.

To have a Lebron comparison in any form before Kobe being brought up in a conversation with Jordan. Absurd

The most jarring aspect is that the X-23 came soon after the Berserker Wolverine, which had all the makings of a successful piece.

It makes sense why they chose to release the way they did but it was a horrible decision to do the character again so soon. Generally the only reason to do rehash so quickly is when the prior version was poorly received. People loved the last X-23.

Idk. They got my money for the preorder. I'll add it to my collection and claim it's one of Laura's clones to justify it. It's colorful. It's got that classic X-Men vibrancy. It'll look nice in the lineup.

I hope that painter works on some more X-Men statues in the future.

To get a true greatest player ever you need to have a universal accepted definition of greatest. It means different things in different arguments. James, Jordan, Bryant, Chamberlain and maybe a few more are in that discussion no matter the definition. Don’t have a problem with any of those guys being given the title but to trash any one of them (especially Jordan) is a sign of mental problems.
