They can do prototypes but 3d painting statues in good quality is pricey or require a lot of cleanup (or both). And the material isn't exactly going to be the best for longevity. One day it may be different but for mass production casting is still best, far cheaper.

No, it's not. For large numbers of production pieces, 3D printing is not the fastest and not the cheapest. If you are going to make one or a few pieces, then 3D printing would be the way to go.

Unfortunately, I can't prove a damn thing I'm about to say, but I know a very rich collector that has bought a lot of statues in bulk over the years. According to him, Prime has been selling shipping containers full of statues at huge discounts just to get them out the door.
