Longevitey of CM's silicone?

I have yet to buy a CM that has silicone skin but, I wonder how well that stuff would hold up over decades? I mean, I've seen movie props made of silicone degrade and fall apart after a couple decades. Is that because they weren't taken care of or maybe they are made from a cheaper grade of silicone?

Should we be thinking about making vacuum sealed display cases? lol

Any info or thoughts on this?

So you're planning to purchase darth vader?

I've had no problems with mine and I live in a very hot and humid climate. The problem with silicon is that they tend to look a tad 'oily' after some time and you will have to use the powder supplied by CM to brush it down. I've heard that the silicon used in CMs will last a lifetime do you don't have to worry about that for awhile.

I'm undecided on the Vader. As of now, I'm going to pass on it. I may change my mind if the in hand pics make me love it.
I ask because, if CM gets Bobby's Joker, I'll buy that.

This has been discussed numerous times in the past. Providing you don't mistreat them, you should have little to worry about.

I figured it was but after looking through 3 pages of searches I decided just to ask in a new thread. Thanks for the info!

I've had the T-850 Arnold displayed in his case since Dec. 05' and he looks brand new just like the day I took him out of the box. Captian Sparrow purchased in Jan. 08' also looks fine and Bruce Lee purchased little over a year ago also doing fine.
