Silverfish or Centipede in Box Collection

Anybody here have a problem with centipede's or silverfish in their box collection?

I put my carton's etc in my basement cold cellar\room
and these things are attracted to paper specifically that type of cardboard and newspaper. Especially if they are damp and thats what happens to cardboard in a cold room.

Anybody have experience with this?
tips on avoiding or getting rid of them?

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Define what you mean by "cold room." Like a wine cellar or something? With pretty much any home you need to spray the outside every other month or so to prevent bugs from entering. I take it you are just storing the empty boxes there. Not boxes with statues.

yeah just boxes without statues

its the room in the basement that people typically store canned goods and meats in
i think its just a small room with a bigger vent to outside

not like a fancy wine cellar

try putting the boxes in large garage bags and sealing them tight with a twist tie. Might help.

Unless they're air tight, condensation will form, though, and then you have another problem. If you duct tape each box into a plastic bag, then you might be okay.
