I didnt read the whole thing but I thought this, at the very top of the review was interesting:
It's also great for anyone who really loved the first two Superman films and thought they were perfect renditions of the Man of Steel.
Everyone else will hate it.
Didn't everyone love the first two films????
I'm not worried. I think the film will be great.

One of the things that kind of bummed me out was that yesterday I was watching Access Hollywood and most of the reviews they put up were good, but most of them talked about how it was a good "SuperHero Movie." I wish they would just call it a good MOVIE.

I didn't like the first two Superman movies although I'm optimistic about this one. I have faith in Brian (?) Singer's directing and the previews looked pretty good. We need a few good comic book related movies. Lord knows there've been enough bad one's lately.

I saw it this past weekend and the movie IS good! It's not cheesy and it has a good storyline. And even though Superman is not one of my favorite superheroes, the movie made a good effort in giving him some added dimension and not just a boy scout do-gooder like I've always seen him to be. It only goes a little over the top at the end with his powers....he's just way TOO strong. But hey, he's a superhero and lifting a small continent is something he can do.
Using uber-geek indicators that we can appreciate, I'd rank it as follows
Batman Begins
X2
Superman Returns
X3

Wow, the guy from "newsarama" didn't like it? Well that settles it then! It must be bad! Gimme a f**kin' break! Go read some of the real reviews.

This type of films never score well with professional reviewers, if they had their way we'd all be watching some arthouse bollocks about interpersonal relationships between two really boring people. I's going to be good, nay it is going to be great. See it for yourself and make your own mind up.
