Layton did plots (or at least co-plots) as well as inks. Being partially credited with the writing puts him ahead.
And this was early in JRJR's career too.

Didnt realize he did the plotting, even co-plotting, as well. Even when I first read these back in the 1970s I thought Michelinie was the sole writer.

Finally got around to reading X-Men Omnibus (Lee/Kirby/Thomas/Roth), and almost all of the way through it. Wow. Pure creative genius. It's so cool to see all these incredible elements of the X-Men legacy as they were presented to the world for the first time!
