Now that ARH has confirmed that they will unveil their first licensed Conan diorama at the upcoming NYCC in October I think it's time to dedicate a thread to this anticipated piece.
The 1:4 dio will be Conan facing off a gigantic rearing serpent with fangs bared while the sacrificial damsel in distress is chained to a pillar with the skeletal remains of past victims scattered around the base. Sounds impressive and grail like if done well.
As expected ARH seems to be going all out to celebrate their licensing milestone with this piece. Although not confirmed there have been leaks of three change o heads, (one with a helmet) alternate weapons display and a hint that something no one is expecting or done before will be available with this dio. What could this be?
While Arahom himself is sculpting the piece, (and I am fond of his anatomical skills) he is showing great promise by having the heads sculpted by Troy McDevitt as some of ARH's past pieces have received some criticism for the facial/head sculpts. We see Troy's work on the SS Conan Fury Of The Beast and that speaks for itself. It is factual that he has completed the head work.
I'm very excited about this and hoping this piece meets expectations as I am limiting the amount of pieces I acquire now and I will be thrilled to have another Conan grail statue to go along with my Paul Moore painted Barbarian.
Saving up in anticipation $$$.
NYCC is less then two months away Oct.10-13. It is my intention to attend the NYCC...so in two months time we will have some pics and first hand impressions.
