Contracts don't always specify a max or a min just a percentage cut and and flat fee regardless.

Maybe not, but I'm sure somewhere in there they're not to intentionally bring the IP into disrepute. And to fragrantly go over a specified edition size of 288 would I assume would do just that.
And even if it wasn't a breach of contract per se, when it came to the next license renewal, I doubt it'll be approved; as there's always another manufacture who would be willing to take it over.

So far other than the Facebook post they've only stated in writing 99 for a regions outside the U.S.
The 288 is just a current production number they made.
Any manufacturer can do multiple numbered runs as long as whatever runs are not more than what they state in writing. It's been legally challenged and lost before.
Even on the COA it only states Asia Pacific. So outside that region they can make as many as they want especially if they haven't advertised otherwise.
I'm not saying they will or would, or even that it would remotely be worth it but they can always make more.

I'm surprised to have not seen or heard much "in hand" talk about this statue.
Anyways, mine just arrived a few days ago and It's amazing. Way better than I expected. Now I'm definitely looking forward to their Superman bust.

Looks great T3xAsFi3nd!
I had this on preorder for awhile, and I'm not even a Joker fan, but the artistry of the bust is just fantastic. What a great idea.
A MUST for any Joker fanatic!
