The actors who wore the suits were different heights. Bolaji Badejo who wore the Alien Big Chap creature costume was 6ft 10in. Kevin Peter Hall who played the Predator creature was 7ft 3in. So there you have it. I always thought Big Chap was bigger than Predator but knowing this the scaling makes more sense to me now.

Yep, it was a blast. The score, the visuals, the pacing...just timeless.

I don't think actor height and in-unvierse heights necessarily correlate.

The Aliens are almost always depicted as taller than Predators.

I agree. But it makes sense regarding how their production scaling looks if that ends up being what we actually get in hand. Regarding cannon though, the creatures heights themselves (Predator jungle hunter from 87 movie and Big Chap) both were 7ft 2. Imo regarding the 1/3s Big Chap does appear to be a bit under scaled compared to JH.

That can't be right. KPH was 7'2" without the suit. And in Alien 3 (if we're going off that film), Ripley describes the creature as being 8 feet tall. 8 feet = 96 inches. Divided by 3, that's close to both of these statues' heights without the bases.

Just going off quick google searches for both creatures. Coming back 7ft 2 for both JH and Big Chap. Alien 3 now we?re talking a different alien.

It may be a bit of a pointless endeavor trying to figure out canonical height of these things when that almost definitely was done many years later; you'll likely find a few different views/interpretations depending on the source.

So my take? "close enough".

Cool

JH and Big Chap both confirmed 1/3 scales. Big Chap looks slightly under scaled to me compared to JH. While we never saw these 2 on screen together I always imagined Big Chap to be slightly bigger than JH. But maybe it?s not. But we do see Dutch vs Predator. Dutch is 6ft 2. JH apparently 7ft 2. Ripley is supposedly 5ft 10/11 and Sigourney Weaver is said to be 6ft at the time of filming vs Big Chap at 7ft 2. I think Big Chap will be much too big for the 1/4 scale Ripley but does look nice against the Warrior in the chart. It seems to me the Warrior will be 1/4 scale.

Agreed. Plus people have their own preferences added to those interpretations.
