I like the base with the exception that it looks too small. The other pieces like Magneto, Phoenix, and Antman have epic bases that tell a story. Keep the fingers as it tells the story of Death and Thanos' obsession, but make the base wider. Maybe on the black bottom plate supporting the skull base can be painted some sort of cosmic theme instead of leaving it black. The more elaborate base is befitting of a piece costing close to $1000. If people want simple bases, then Sideshow is waiting for you.
For all of those who are not feeling it, don't preorder this. More for me as I plan of getting 2.

The stone color is key.
but if the disk underneath the hand/skull pile is going to be part of the statue, they could paint that to have a cosmic theme. Perhaps with the nebula style that is on the previous shown Surfer custom.

While I like the cosmic effect on the base, I just wonder about the color contrast with the statue. Does it make the statue as well as the base's skulls and hand pop more? The stone and skeletal colors worked well too. I think I need to see finished cosmic paints to truly decide... Looks cool so far though
