I've sent a FB message (with pics of those in-hand pics) to WETA and complained.

Here is their response:

Yes, lighting can affect how a piece would look, and which focal length you use with your camera/phone camera + distance with the subject would affect the look also. However, based on the in-hand pics from collectors.. The heat vision head production piece (painted by factory workers) paint job and sculpt still doesn't really match well with the production sample.

I think I'll probably just wait for more proper pics in hand from other collectors, with proper lighting and color/white balance, and all. Furthermore, I'm thinking whether should I let it ship to me so I can see it in person then judge from there whether to sell it off after that.

"Let's just dust those eyebrows on there super thick, the buyer's won't notice any difference."

Honestly that would be my only hang up. I'm so oddly particular with eyebrows and arms.

The new pictures of the normal sculpt look--okay. The bottom of the face is off. It's certainly not Henry Cavill. It's more like a stunt double.

The heat vision portrait is flat out awful beyond description.

It' fine for 500. But for 900? Nope. Cancelled. As a one time deal, I was able to order a statue from the XM Rebirth line and put the deposit on that. Much happier.

The regular head sculpt is the most important element for me. Looking better. Still unsure but for now I'm not cancelling my order. I'd still like to see further updates/pics

As for the heat vision...yeah, no amount of lighting is going to make that look good. Shame because even though I'll be using the regular portrait most of the time, the heat vision does fit with this statue's story.

The concept/pose is perfect (That's what won my heart for this statue), excluding the heat vision portrait, the sculpt looks good. Its the paint job where this goes downhill.

Stephenwolf (or what's left of him) should have chrome colors. He blends in with the rubble. Costume colors should have another finish to make it look more vibrant, but most of all, the skin textures/colors could use a little more work.

The paint job isn't bad, but if improved (excluding heat vision portrait, that needs to be sent back to the drawing board), this statue would be a grand slam.

How are Chinese collectors getting these as I thought this wasn't even released yet. Man, I really don't want to cancel my PO but it looks like I might have to. This also means I wont PO their Batman.
