OK soo I skipped yesterday as nothing exciting is happening to the burger LOL
we are 2 weeks into the experiment and well NO visible mold, fungus etc. Only effects I can see are drying out and shrinkage.

Sounds like a personal problem you should see a doctor about.

Guess there's just too many preservatives in everything. I'm thinking about doing a similar experiment, but the wife won't let me. May just do it anyway.

You should do the experiment with a McDonalds burger and a burger from a natural fresh burger place and see what happens.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I think this is what he was pretty much meaning to say.
Your "greasey home style restaurant" burger would suffice for the comparison to the McD's burger he is curious to see.

Just as I was going to end the experiment.. WE HAVE ....MOLD.... the patty is now almost like wood and has shriveled up same with the bun both are very hard, So I was looking at it and flipped it over and BINGOO MOLD on the bottom of the Patty. Also If you look at the pics of the person who says they left theirs out for 6 months it never shrank and became misshapen which might be an Hmmm moment as well...
I give you MOLD
