This 70's, crime-drama took place down in the Big Easy (New Orleans) and starred a very cool guy as an Insurance Investigator who's main passion was cooking. He traveled with a white german-shepherd and a beautiful assistant who helped him with many things. What was the name of the show?
Who starred? and, for a bonus point, what Sci-Fi classic did he star in. Pictures are always appreciated.

You are correct. If I had mentioned that he was blind, it would have made it too easy. The German Shepherd was the clue. Good one ansel.
Franciscus was sent to rescue Taylor in Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
